Welcome to Mount Rainier High School Athletics!
Here you will find general information about the sports offered at Mount Rainier High School as well as important information about registering a student athlete to participate in their preferred sport(s).
Athletics at MRHS:
There will be a pre-season parent meeting upon the start of each sports season where specific information will be provided. Additional Information can be found on our Highline Public Schools Athletics page. Any questions about this sheet should be directed to Bryan Peterson, Athletic Director.
Sports Offered
Running Start Students
All Running Start student athletes need to complete and return the WIAA Running Start Contract to the Athletics Office at the beginning of each season of athletic participation. Student athletes must also submit grades from their college coursework to the Athletics Office at the end of each college quarter to be kept on file.
Home School Students
All Home School student athletes need to complete and return the WIAA Home Based Contract to the Athletics Office at the beginning of each season of athletic participation. Student athletes must also submit grades from their home school coursework to the Athletics Office each reporting period to be kept on file.
Alternative Education Students
(CHOICE, Big Picture, WELLS, Raisbeck Aviation, etc.)
All Alternative Education student athletes need to complete and return the WIAA Alternative Education Contract to the Athletics Office at the beginning of each season of athletic participation. Student athletes must also submit grades from their Alternative school when requested to the Athletics Office each reporting period to be kept on file.
Directed Athletics
There is a new way to earn PE credit through sports participation. Students participating in sports for the 2021-22 season and must use -the new procedure to earn credit. To earn credit, students must complete a Directed Athletics Form by their sports season specified date. After obtaining signatures from a parent/guardian, you must return the form to the Athletic Director. After approval, students will gain access to a twelve week online course called Directed Athletics.

Sports Fees
ONLINE PAYMENTS:
To pay for athletic fees for middle and high school students, log into the Touchbase. This electronic payment system allows you to pay for items such as athletic participation fees, AP test fees, classroom fees, summer school tuition and more.
