Our Mission: 
Mount Rainier High School promotes the growth of every student and seeks to create principled, knowledgeable, and inquisitive graduates empowered to lead productive and caring lives in a global society.


No Food Deliveries for Students:  Students are Not allowed to order Uber Eats or Door Dash or any other food delivery like pizza, etc during school hours. 


MRHS Class of 2019 Graduation Ceremony is Wednesday, June 19, 3pm at ShoWare!!  All Classes will end at 11:00am.

Tickets required to attend.

Multicultural Unity Night this year is on Thursday, June 6, at 6:00-7:30pm in the small theater and cafeteria.  This is a potluck event for students and their families to bring and share dishes that represent the diverse cultures of our community. We are also looking for student performers to share a dance, song, poem, etc., from their cultures.  Interested students should speak with Mrs. Burkhardt in room 2510.  

Job Fair:  There will be a job fair for students on June 7th.  This is a link to the flyer with the information.  Please share with your advisees next week if your schedule allows. N The Hood Job Fair.pdf




Drama:  Hey Rams!  Are you interested in acting?  Come Audition for Drama’s Fall Play, Agatha Christie’s Murder Mystery,“The Mousetrap!”  Audition materials are outside Mr. Thumim’s room 2714.  Auditions will be after school on Tuesday, June 18.


Summer Athletics:  All students planning to take part in any spring/summer athletic activities MUST be signed up on FamilyID Summer Activities before participating.  Summer Activities begin May 27.


Blood Drive Tuesday June 4th.  DECA will have their last blood drive from 8am to 2pm here at Mount Rainier.  Help save 3 lives and take a moment to sign up during both lunches.


Latino Club:  Attention all MRHS Latino Seniors.  Latino Grad Night is Friday, June 14th @ 6pm.


Yearbook on Sale:  Final Pre-Sale for 2019 Yearbook begins May 13!  Don’t miss out on the memories.  $ 65 cash or check while they last.



LIBRARY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SENIORS!  Last day for senior book check-outs will be May 24.  The final due date for ALL MATERIALS is May 31.  Fines will be processed on June 3.  Please return your library materials as soon as possible.


Senior Breakfast/Lunch Accounts:  All Senior Breakfast and Lunch accounts will be frozen as of Tuesday, June 11th.  Meals purchased after that day will require cash.  Nutrition Services will be sending a survey to Senior Parents in early June, please watch for it and complete information requested.


2019 Graduation:  Wednesday, June 19th at ShoWare @ 3pm. 


Senior Bookkeeper Check Out:  June 13-14

Mandatory Senior Rehearsal, Senior Breakfast, Grad Walk, Inspirational Assembly @ MRHS 8am – 1pm


Senior Counselor Check Out:  June 18 during 5th & 6th Periods

Seniors Last Day:  June 18


Graduation Orders have arrived from Jostens. Please pick up your pre-ordered items from Bookkeeping.  If you have not ordered, you still can directly through


Moving on Survey:  Please fill out the Moving on Survey by logging into your illuminate account which will enter you into a drawing for a prize. 

Plus, it is not too late to fill out the FAFSA/WASFA! Stop by the college & Career Center if you need support filing it out or if you’d like help identifying a pathway after High School.


Graduation Tickets:  Please read carefully.

-All seniors will be given 6 free tickets on June 18.

-Seniors may request additional free tickets by emailing, calling, or speaking directly with the bookkeeper:; phone 206-631-7008.

-Seniors will be asked to make their request for additional tickets by June 10.  Extra Tickets will be distributed June 18.

-Seniors that do not need all 6 tickets will be asked to return tickets they do not need at the time of checkout

-If we are unable to accommodate all ticket requests, we will use a lottery to determine who will receive the remaining tickets






Seniors! You can still apply for FAFSA/WASFA!  FAFSA is federal financial aid, if you do not qualify for federal aid you can apply for WA state financial aid - WASFA. Financial aid can help pay for career schools or 2yr & 4yr colleges.  If you’d like support filling out these applications College & Career Center will have extended hours the following days:


·         Tuesday, June 4th – 2:30pm – 5:30pm

·         Wednesday, June 5th – 2:30pm – 5:30pm

·         Tuesday, June 11th – 2:30pm – 5:30pm

·         Thursday, June 13th – 2:30pm – 5:30pm   


Current 10th and 11th graders! Highline School District will be offering a Summer College Tour This is an overnight experience on July 17 – July 19th. You will have the opportunity to visit:

·         Gonzaga University

·         Washington State University

·         Central Washington University

·         Eastern Washington University

You can pick up a permission slip pack in the College & Career Center. Sign up by June 7th!
