HAPPY SUMMER & WE LOOK FORWARD TO FALL!
Our Mission: Mount Rainier High School promotes the growth of every student and seeks to create principled, knowledgeable, and inquisitive graduates empowered to lead productive and caring lives in a global society.
MRHS Building and Fields are Closed for Summer
Limited Office Staff return August 3rd. There will be sporadic office staff in the building during July, please call first: 206-631-7000.
Fall Planning Webinars
3 “Return to Learn Webinars” on July 1 starting at 8:30 a.m.! See Highline Schools webpage for more information.
As our district workgroups formulate plans for returning to school in the fall, we need your input. Based on state and local public health guidance, we must maintain 6-foot distancing for students and staff. This means we will not be able to accommodate all students in school at the same time. We want your feedback on our draft plan. It is important that we hear from students and families representing our entire Highline school community. Please join Superintendent Susan Enfield on July 1 to learn about our proposed plan for fall, give feedback and ask questions.
2020 Free Summer Meals – Find Site Locations and Times at: www.highlineschools.org
Summer meal service began Monday, June 22. Grab-n-go meals will continue to be free to all students and children 18 years and younger. Registration is not required. There are no forms to fill out and no names are written down. If a child is unable to come to a meal distribution site, someone else may pick up a meal for that child. Meals will only be offered on Mondays and Thursdays during summer break. On Monday, students will receive three days worth of meals. On Thursdays, students will receive four days worth of meals. Families are encouraged to bring a bag to carry the breakfasts and lunches for multiple days. Please maintain at least 6 feet between families standing in line when picking up meals.
Highline partners with King County Metro and WSDOT to offer a free Youth Summer ORCA Pass to students in grades 8 – 12 who qualify for free school meals. The pass gives them access to three months of unlimited transit. Students will sign up now, then receive their card once KC officials allow for safe, non-essential travel. Currently, students are not advised to take transit for any non-essential reasons. Sign up at Youth ORCA Pass sign-up form. For more information visit the Youth ORCA Pass website.
