Important Start of School Information
Dropping off and Picking up Students
The front parking lot of the school becomes extremely congested before and after school. In order to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors, please adhere to all posted parking signs and staff who are out helping direct traffic. We want everyone to be able to get in and out of school safely, efficiently, and on time.
Students who wish to request a schedule change will need to fill out a schedule change request form and turn it in to the counseling office. Requests should be for academic reasons only. A building administrator will review all other requests. Please note that change requests may be impacted by enrollment and class size limits. You may schedule an appointment with your counselor should you need to discuss your schedule or graduation plan.
Attendance (School Hours are 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
Regular attendance at school and all classes is an integral part of students successfully completing high school. We expect all students to be in class on time and prepared to learn. Students are tardy if they enter any class after the bell rings. Tardies are documented and individual teachers will work with students to assign consequences should the tardies impact learning.
Should students need to be out of school for multiple days we recommend filling out a pre-arranged absence sheet so that we know ahead of time and can get the appropriate attendance documented. It is at teacher discretion to give students an opportunity to make up missed work for unexcused absences. Students who know they will be missing school for a legitimate, pre-arranged reason need to speak with their teachers to set up a plan for making up any missed work.
